Job summary

Lake Metroparks Concord Twp., Ohio, United States seeks a Site Development Technician to assist with park development projects under the Site Development Foreman. Responsibilities include installation, repair, and maintenance of roads, parking, trails, drainage, and related infrastructure.

The role requires operating heavy equipment, occasional heavy labor outdoors, and a valid Class A CDL or ability to obtain one. Pre-employment background checks apply and weekend/holiday hours may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior experience operating heavy equipment and transporting heavy equipment.
• Must possess a Class A CDL or obtain within timeframe agreed upon by management.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and remain insurable.
• Pre-employment background check is required.
• Must be able to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions and follow an irregular schedule, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
• Must be able to perform heavy physical labor associated with site development, construction, and maintenance activities.
• Must be able to work independently, as part of a crew, and provide task direction on projects when assigned.
• Must be able to operate Park District vehicles and equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Follows all safety procedures and reports hazards promptly.
• Loads, secures, and transports heavy equipment in accordance with laws and procedures.
• Operates heavy equipment to move and finish materials for site development and maintenance.
• Uses heavy and hand tools to remove vegetation and debris for park development.
• Assists with layout and site preparation for trails, driveways, parking areas, and building sites.
• Installs and repairs erosion control, drainage, trails, roads, and related infrastructure.
• Maintains developed landscapes and wildlife habitat areas.
• Performs daily vehicle and equipment inspections and basic repairs.
• Supports natural resource management projects, including storm damage response and trail repairs.
• Works in adverse weather and performs duties with physical effort.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
