Job summary

Spectrum 360 A NJ Non Profit Corp. seeks a Community Outreach and Education Specialist to conduct outreach with community organizations serving potential victims of human trafficking and educate them about CHNJ programs.

You will support Resource Specialists in early meetings with survivors, engage communities disproportionately affected, and provide street outreach and rights education. Lived experience and bilingual English/Spanish required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or High School Diploma with 3 years relevant experience
• Lived experience of human trafficking required
• Bilingual English/Spanish required
• Valid NJ driver’s license with insurable driving record
• Must have use of your own transportation
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Excellent presentation and public speaking skills
• Flexibility for events and outreach outside normal hours
• Work in environments where participants live including outdoor locations

Responsibilities

• Actively participates in outreach meetings with local Human Trafficking Task Forces and coalitions
• Lead roles in task forces and coalitions
• Identify and participate in relevant task forces and coalitions
• Inform the external community about CHNJ programs and services
• Make public and agency presentations and attend meetings with agencies and public officials
• Organize community contacts to reach more victims
• Engage with community members and follow training materials
• Assist survivors with immediate needs (food, medical care, transportation, clothing, shelter)
• Refer potential victims to Resource Specialists and other services
• Identify hot spots and conduct street outreach
• Collaborate with other Street Outreach Teams and external events
• Provide education on workers’ and victims’ rights
• Interpret program services to consumers and professionals
• Attend weekly HTVS team meetings and document interactions
• Comply with agency policies and procedures
• Assist with fundraising events
• All other duties as assigned
• Availability Monday–Friday 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
