Job summary

Covenant House New Jersey is seeking an Entry Level Resource Specialist for the North Jersey Region, based in Newark. The role supports case management for survivors of human trafficking, connecting them to trauma-informed services across the state and coordinating core supports with sensitivity and respect.

The position requires a BA/BS, up to 2 years of experience, and a flexible hybrid in-office schedule.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, Master’s preferred.
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations.
  • Flexible, dynamic, creative problem solver.
  • Strong ability to partner with staff and volunteers throughout Covenant House organization.
  • Valid NJ driver’s license with an insurable driving record.
  • Fluency in Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support Department of Law and Public Safety Human Trafficking operations by providing on-site outreach to victims during raids and other law enforcement operations.
  • Field calls from anti-trafficking hotlines and facilitate intake or referrals for callers seeking services.
  • Work directly with individual victims of human trafficking to coordinate core services.
  • Refer and connect all victims between 18-24 years old to appropriate CHNJ residential programming for emergency shelter and provision of core services.
  • Provide case management to all victims of human trafficking to connect victims with core services in the appropriate geographic locations.
  • Build up a directory of resources in the communities where survivors are living.
  • Responsible for working with clients statewide, mainly (but not limited to) in the following counties: Sussex, Warren, Passaic, Bergen, Morris, Essex, Hudson, Union, Somerset, Hunterdon, Middlesex, Mercer, and Monmouth.
  • Must be flexible with their work schedule and able to adjust hours as needed, including working outside of standard 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. hours.
  • Track and manage linkages to outside referrals.
  • Collect and enter data into the ETO database.
  • Collect and enter data into any required performance management tools or other information systems.
  • Document information regarding all client interaction, caseload progress and outside agency contact.
  • Complete all related documentation including intake, assessments and transition.
  • Provide on-call services to victims of human trafficking (rotating schedule).
  • Required to respond to the work phone daily.
  • Required to read and respond to emails daily.
  • Represent the agency as needed.

Job Description

The Resource Specialist is responsible for the case management of survivors who are participating in CHNJ’s statewide anti-human trafficking program. The Resource Specialist will connect survivors to services that are trauma informed in their geographical location. The Resource Specialist will provide all services with absolute respect and unconditional love.

Position is hybrid and will require in office days to be determined.

Position Salary $57,925.72.
