Job summary

City of Dallas is seeking a Project Manager - Traffic Signals to oversee transportation contracts, coordinate resources, and ensure timely project delivery. This senior role requires a PE license and substantial traffic engineering experience within the Dallas area.

You will manage budgets, schedules, and stakeholder communications while guiding staff and coordinating with technical and construction teams to achieve project goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering field.
• Five (5) years of experience in traffic engineering including managing projects from conception to completion.
• Master’s degree or higher plus four years of required experience meets the education and experience requirements.
• Professional Engineer License; Texas license within six months after appointment.
• Must be able to work 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, with additional time as needed.

Responsibilities

• Manages transportation projects and activities for the City of Dallas; monitors construction and manages project scope and completion.
• Tracks objectives, manages schedules and budget; communicates scope of work related to contracts and objectives.
• Learns and implements new processes to support transportation goals; participates in program management.
• Proactively manages budgets; determines labor, general expenses, and contract requirements.
• Reviews, processes, and handles internal requests for meetings, documents, and project updates.
• Plans, designs, specifies, and communicates project goals; fosters collaboration to achieve outcomes.
• Provides direction for staff involved in transportation projects and initiatives.
• Performs other work as needed.
