Job summary

City of Lubbock is seeking a Traffic Signal Technician to install, maintain, and repair traffic control devices and related electrical systems. The role involves operating bucket/backhoe equipment, interpreting wiring diagrams, and supporting signalized intersections in all weather conditions.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED with 6 months to 1 year in electrical/electronic installation or construction, a valid driver's license, and the ability to obtain a Texas CDL after hire.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED plus 6 months to 1 year experience in installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical or electronic equipment or construction.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Physical Exam Required.
  • Ability to Obtain Texas Commercial Driver's License after hire.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair traffic control devices and equipment.
  • Operate heavy equipment and hand tools.
  • Install, splice, and terminate electrical and communication cables.
  • Interpret construction drawings and standards for signalized intersections.
  • Rotate on call for emergency responses at night and on weekends.
  • Train on all Traffic Signal Technician essential functions.
  • Perform related duties as required.
