Job summary

Chinchor Electric, Inc. in Saint Augustine, FL seeks a Traffic Signal Technician to install and maintain traffic signal systems. The role requires outdoor work, travel, and night shifts. Candidates should have 2+ years of related experience, FDOT familiarity, and the ability to read plans.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of traffic signal, roadway electrical, or highway lighting experience.
• FDOT experience required.
• Knowledge of traffic signal construction and equipment.
• Ability to read plans and follow specifications.
• Ability to work safely as part of a crew in roadway and construction environments.
• Must be able to work outdoors, travel, and work nights, weekends, overtime, and out of town as needed.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.
• CDL Class A preferred; CDL holders must have held their license for at least three (3) years.
• Must be able to pass required drug and alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain traffic signal systems and related equipment.
• Install poles, mast arms, signal heads, cabinets, conduit, and other electrical components.
• Assist with wiring, excavation, trenching, concrete work, and equipment installation.
• Read and follow project plans, specifications, and work orders.
• Safely operate tools and construction equipment.
• Follow FDOT, Maintenance of Traffic, and company safety requirements.
• Inspect completed work and maintain quality standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
