Job summary

Chinchor Electric, Inc. in Saint Augustine, FL is hiring a Traffic Signal Technician to install and maintain traffic signal systems, cabinets, poles, and related electrical components.

The role requires reading project plans, following specifications, and working safely in roadway environments. The position offers hourly pay starting at $24+ based on experience, with travel and night work as needed, and opportunities for advancement through FEAT/NEFBA training and certifications.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of traffic signal, roadway electrical, or highway lighting experience.
• FDOT experience required.
• Knowledge of traffic signal construction and equipment.
• Ability to read plans and follow specifications.
• Ability to work outdoors, travel, and work nights, weekends, overtime, and out of town as needed.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.
• CDL Class A preferred; CDL holders must have held their license for at least three (3) years.
• Must be able to pass required drug and alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain traffic signal systems and related equipment.
• Install poles, mast arms, signal heads, cabinets, conduit, and other electrical components.
• Assist with wiring, excavation, trenching, concrete work, and equipment installation.
• Read and follow project plans, specifications, and work orders.
• Safely operate tools and construction equipment.
• Follow FDOT, Maintenance of Traffic, and company safety requirements.
• Inspect completed work and maintain quality standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Type:

Full-Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt

Pay:

$24+ Hourly, Based on Experience

Travel & night work may be required. MUST be able to work out of town and nights.

Traffic Signal Technician Responsibilities:

Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:

Physical Demands

Must be able to perform multiple tasks and can handle the physical demands of the job, including but not limited to, digging using a shovel, standing, walking, kneeling, bending, crouching, pulling, pushing, climbing, and lifting at least 50lbs.
