Job summary

Atlas is seeking a Traffic Signal Technician to support traffic signal maintenance and operations within GDOT District 7 in the Atlanta metropolitan area. In this role, you will help keep transportation systems operating safely and efficiently by maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting critical traffic signal infrastructure.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three+ years experience in traffic signal installation, maintenance, or repair.
• Knowledge of NESC, NEC, and traffic control standards.
• Experience with traffic signal controllers and systems.
• Familiarity with MUTCD standards and practices.
• Valid Georgia driver's license or ability to obtain.
• Ability to lift equipment and work at height.
• Commitment to safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair traffic signals, traffic control devices, and related equipment.
• Operate and perform preventive maintenance on equipment used for signal installation and maintenance activities.
• Upload, download, program, and support traffic signal controllers and associated system components.
• Monitor and inspect contractor work to verify quality, compliance, and completion of signal-related projects.
• Support documentation, reporting, and coordination activities associated with maintenance and field operations.
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to respond to traffic signal malfunctions and service needs outside regular business hours.
