Job summary

The State of South Carolina is seeking a Traffic Signal Technician to support the operation and maintenance of traffic signal systems. This role involves programming with ATMS.NOW and Street Sync, testing equipment in the shop, and installing or replacing signal components as needed at various sites.

Strong mechanical aptitude and safety awareness are essential. Responsibilities include responding to outages, performing preventative maintenance, and documenting work in TEAMS.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Class A CDL required within six months of placement.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Operate ATMS.NOW and Street Sync to program signal controllers and keep documentation.
• Set up and test traffic signal cabinets in the shop per plans and revisions.
• Replace signal equipment (cabinets, poles, wiring, signal heads) damaged or aged.
• Respond to complaints and after-hours calls; perform necessary repairs promptly.
