Job summary

The Town of West Hartford is seeking a Street & Traffic Signal Technician I to perform skilled electrical work on traffic controls and street lighting under the Department of Public Works. The role requires exposing to high voltage environments, lifting 50+ pounds, and working from heights up to 40 feet in an aerial bucket truck.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent in electrical trades, CT E-2 license or equivalent, and the ability to obtain Level I Traffic Signal

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent in the electrical trades.
• Must possess a driving record compliant with Town policy.
• Ability to obtain Level I Traffic Signal certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and repairs traffic control devices including signals and walk lights.
• Receives and responds to routine and emergency calls.
• Operates traffic signal-related equipment and maintains electrical systems.
