Job summary

City of Southfield Human Resources is seeking a public works installer responsible for installing and maintaining traffic control signs and pavement markings. You will keep accurate records, prepare sign work orders, and update computer records while adhering to MMUTCD standards.

Additional duties include setting up barricades for lane closures, maintaining barricades and traffic supplies, and learning sign manufacturing and pavement marking processes in support of city events and neighborhood

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the installation and maintenance of traffic control signs and pavement markings.
• Keeps accurate records of sign installations and prepares sign work orders and updates computer records.
• Adheres to all safety standards for the installation and maintenance of all traffic control devices.
• Knowledge of standards for installation of traffic control signs and pavement markings per MMUTCD
• Setup of barricades for lane and road closures, City events and neighborhood activities.
• Maintain barricades, cones, flasher units and other traffic supplies.
• Ability to learn sign manufacturing, installation and pavement marking processes.
