Job summary

Stantec seeks a Transportation Engineer/Planner with a traffic & safety focus to join our Florida team, servicing Coral Gables, Deerfield Beach, West Palm Beach, Lake Mary, and Orlando offices.

You will work independently on small projects and as a team member on larger efforts, applying multimodal analysis, forecasting, and safety methods to improve mobility and safety for communities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or related field.
• Licensed as a Professional Engineer in Florida, or able to reciprocity within 3 months.
• Certification as a planner (AICP) is a plus.
• 5+ years of relevant traffic engineering/planning experience.
• Proficient in multiple transportation analysis software packages listed above.

Responsibilities

• Assist with and oversee traffic forecasting, safety, and operational analyses.
• Prepare written technical reports documenting study results and recommendations.
• Interact with state and local government clients and review agencies at project meetings.
• Conduct multi-disciplinary transportation analyses including traffic, bike/ped, and freight.
• Work with CAD and GIS tools and various ITS/TSMO related design tasks.
• Support regional planning studies and corridor/intersection improvement projects from concept to final design.
• Build relationships with traffic engineering clients and professional organizations.
