Job summary

Mayor and City Council of Baltimore seeks a Traffic Safety Manager to plan, organize, and coordinate traffic safety programs for Baltimore City. The role involves supervising traffic safety personnel and being available for emergencies on a 24-hour call basis, including evenings/weekends when required.

Work may occur at various locations with exposure to weather, noise, and traffic, and occasional need for evenings. A bachelor’s degree and at least five years of relevant experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Education: bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Experience: five years in developing and implementing a traffic safety program for a large municipality, including two years of supervisory responsibilities.
• Equivalency: an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Non-supervisory experience or education may not substitute for supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and coordinate traffic safety programs for Baltimore City.
• Supervise traffic safety personnel.
• Attend evenings or weekend meetings and be available for emergencies on a 24-hour call basis.
• Work at various locations with possible exposure to inclement weather, noise and traffic.
