Qualifications

• Education: Associate degree from an accredited college and five years of traffic engineering/traffic investigation experience, including two years in lead responsibilities.
• Licenses: Valid Maryland Class C noncommercial driver's license (or equivalent out-of-state license) required; provisional licenses not acceptable.
• Experience with traffic signal systems; ability to supervise staff.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the review of plans for highway and new development construction projects and respond to citizen requests for traffic control device compliance with regulations and standards.
• Supervise investigative and engineering personnel; work under technical supervision.
• Maintain records and write narrative and statistical reports; coordinate with other departments as needed.
