Job summary

AWP Safety, America’s leading traffic management company, seeks Protectors to join our field team. You will set up cones, signs, and barricades, guide traffic with a stop/slow paddle, and help keep equipment safe while working outdoors in all weather.

No prior experience required; we provide training, safety certifications, and opportunities for advancement. A valid driver’s license and ability to lift 40–50 pounds are needed. Shifts include nights or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license.
• Able to stand, walk, and work outside for long periods.
• Able to lift 40–50 pounds.
• Willing to work in traffic and changing weather.
• Flexible schedule; Show up on time, every shift.
• Must pass pre-hire screening, including a drug test.
• Stay alert around moving traffic and follow all safety rules.
• Treat coworkers, clients, and the public with respect.

Responsibilities

• Set up cones, signs, and barricades and take traffic control equipment down.
• Use a stop/slow paddle to guide traffic and monitor job sites.
• Follow all training safety rules.
• Communicate with crew and supervisor.
• Keep vehicles and equipment clean and safe.
• Work outside year-round in all weather.
• Shifts may include nights, weekends, or emergency work.
• May stand or walk 8 to 12 hours per shift.
• Wear provided safety gear; bring steel toe boots.
