Job summary

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 3 years of work experience in traffic principles and practices or related field.
  • OSHA and First Aid, CPR and AED certifications or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Valid New Mexico Class D driver’s license; may drive county vehicle.
  • Familiarity with MUTCD regulations and traffic control devices.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews and issues utility road cut permits; reviews excavation/restoration permits for technical accuracy and maintains daily permit logs.
  • Conducts field inspections to verify compaction, backfill and proper asphalt patching on road cuts; ensures safety procedures are followed.
  • Coordinates with outside agencies to obtain information and updates regulations regarding permits.
  • Responds to questions from the public and assists with data analysis and summary reports.
