Job summary

HDR seeks a Traffic Project Manager to lead transportation planning, traffic engineering analysis, safety analysis and project development. You will develop comprehensive traffic studies and plans for state and local agencies, ensuring schedules and budgets are met.

Responsibilities include coordinating with subconsultants and clients, reviewing scopes and budgets, and mentoring junior staff while implementing project quality plans across multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a project manager or task lead for transportation planning, traffic engineering analysis, safety analysis and project development
• Develop traffic studies including traffic impact analyses, corridor studies, access management studies, historic/predictive safety analysis, traffic signal timing plans, microscopic simulation modeling, and macroscopic simulation modeling
• Prepare plans, specifications, and estimates documents including signing and striping, traffic signals, illumination, and Intelligent Traffic Systems for various state and local agencies
• Prepare or review scopes, budgets, and schedules; write reports and technical memorandums
• Coordinate with subconsultants and clients to keep projects on schedule and within budget
• Work closely with Area Manager, Transportation Business Group Manager, Transportation Program Manager, Section Managers, and multiple Project Managers for project reviews
• Implement project quality plans; and support and advise junior engineers and technical staff as needed
