Job summary

AWP Safety, based in Northeast Ohio, seeks a Traffic Planner to develop work area traffic control plans and coordinate permit services with city agencies. You will design plans using AutoCAD or Rapid Plan, submit them for approval, and manage multiple projects while collaborating with dispatch, customers, and contractors.

The role emphasizes safety initiatives, adherence to MUTCD standards, and timely delivery of plans.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in AutoCAD 2015 or Rapid Plan to draw to industry drafting standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Proficiency in Google Earth and a GIS program.
• Knowledge of MUTCD (latest edition).
• Able to read and understand construction blueprints and specifications.
• Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs and stand for long hours.
• Bend and lift repeatedly.

Responsibilities

• Meet with customers to develop work area traffic control plans meeting work zone and project phasing requirements.
• Develop and submit quotes for plans.
• Design and draw temporary traffic control plans to MUTCD/WATCH standards using AutoCAD or Rapid Plan.
• Submit plans to City/Controlling Agencies for review and approval as required.
• Coordinate with the branch manager for permit services as required per customer.
• Attend meetings with customers and City/Controlling agencies.
• Facilitate contact between dispatch and contractor to coordinate project statewide if required.
• Submit billing for completed traffic plans.
• Manage multiple projects for timely completion matching contractor schedules.
• Manage other draftsmen and delegate projects for timely completion.
