Creighton Manning, a GAI company, is seeking interns to support transportation planning and engineering projects in New York. You will assist senior planners on transit, highway and long-range planning tasks while gaining exposure to field data collection and report-writing.

Ideal candidates are pursuing civil engineering or planning degrees, with strong organization, teamwork, and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.

Qualificações

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering or planning from an ABET/EAC accredited program or approved equivalent.
• Self-motivated and strong work ethic.
• Strong organizational skills; ability to multi-task and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with Word, Excel, Teams, Synchro, HCS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS, and Adobe Suite (Illustrator, InDesign) encouraged.

Responsabilidades

• Perform specific portions of a broader assignment, assisting an experienced planner/engineer
• Perform standard computations or basic analysis
• Prepare drawings, sketches, and visual aids
• Assist in maintaining equipment inventory
• Perform design tasks

• Attend project meetings with senior staff
• Responsible for writing report sections
• Responsible for basic QA/QC tasks; review of own work
• Assists at various meetings including public and client meetings

About This Position

Interns evaluate, select, and apply standard techniques, procedures and criteria to perform a task or sequence of tasks for conventional types of plans, development of planning studies or reports, investigations, or surveys with relatively few complex features under the general guidance of a Project Planner/Engineer or Project Manager. This work is on small projects or portions of larger projects. Typical projects include transit, highway, traffic signal, bridge design, long range transportation planning, traffic impact studies and transit planning.

Job Requirements

Working towards a bachelor’s or master’s degree in related discipline such as civil engineering or planning from an ABET/EAC accredited program or an approved equivalent. Self-motivated and strong work ethic. Strong organizational skills required; ability to multi-task and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Experience with Word, Excel, Teams, Synchro, HCS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS, Adobe Suite (Illustrator, InDesign) encouraged.

Pay Range

Albany, Poughkeepsie, Syracuse, White Plains, NY: $21.80/hour-$28/hour

Pay will be based on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and position location.
