Creighton Manning, a GAI company, is seeking a Highway Design Intern to support planning, design, and development of transportation projects in Albany, NY. You will work with engineers to prepare roadway alignments, profiles, drainage designs, and traffic plans using MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer.
The role provides hands-on experience in highway reconstruction, widening, and complete streets projects while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
Highway Design Interns assist in the planning, design, and development of transportation infrastructure projects under the guidance of experienced engineers and project managers. Interns apply engineering principles and industry standards to support the preparation of roadway alignments, profiles, cross sections, drainage designs, maintenance and protection of traffic plans, and technical reports. Responsibilities may include data collection and analysis, quantity calculations, plan production, and the use of engineering design software such as MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer. This work typically involves contributing to highway reconstruction, roadway widening, intersection improvements, complete streets projects, and other transportation improvement initiatives as part of multidisciplinary project teams.
Interest in transportation engineering, roadway design, highway reconstruction, and related infrastructure projects. Working towards a bachelor's or master's degree in related discipline such as civil engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program or an approved equivalent. Self-motivated and strong work ethic. Strong organizational and communication skills required; ability to multi-task and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Albany, NY: $21.80/hour - $28/hour
Pay will be based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and position location.
