Job summary

Stanley Consultants seeks a Traffic and ITS Engineering Department Manager to lead a team in the Austin or San Antonio area. You will guide priority setting, staffing, budgets, and client relationships to deliver advanced traffic engineering and ITS design for public and private clients.

The role requires a strong track record in leadership, project management, and communication, with experience across studies, architecture, modeling, design, and project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• At least 15 years of relevant work experience.
• At least 3 years of managerial experience.
• Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain soon.
• Traffic Engineering Planning and Design experience, and/or ITS planning and design.
• Great written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage department functions including personnel administration, QA/QC, and staff support.
• Lead traffic engineering and ITS strategic and growth initiatives and assist with pursuits.
• Support client outreach and build relationships with key clients.
• Draft and review scopes and fees for department projects.
• Serve as Project Manager on key department projects.
• Ensure timely resource planning and report department status and performance.
• Balance workload and develop staff to meet objectives.
• Recommend policies, standards, and procedures.
• Involve in all phases of traffic and ITS engineering for diverse clients.
