Traffic Engineer - Transportation Market

Our transportation and utility services professionals provide expertise in active transportation, bridge and roadway design, traffic engineering, intelligent transportation systems, utility and broadband services, grant writing, and program management. From interstates to bike paths, we design transportation systems that connect communities.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, schedule, and coordinate transportation engineering projects, including traffic impact analyses, forecasting, feasibility studies, parking studies, signal timing, access management, safety, operational, and corridor studies.
• Prepare engineering reports, plans, specifications, and technical drawings, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Create informational materials for stakeholders and the public.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, and team members.
• Communicate effectively with project stakeholders and review agencies.

Minimum Qualifications:

• B.S. in Civil or Transportation Engineering; M.S. preferred. 3-5 years’ experience in traffic engineering or planning; DOT experience desired.
• EIT certification required.
• PE licensure or ability to obtain within 3-5 years; PTOE/PTP/RSP certifications a plus.
• Experience in transportation and traffic engineering, with strong knowledge of engineering principles.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality control.
• Research skills for innovative solutions and industry best practices.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Proactive approach to meeting objectives.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team; excellent communication skills.
• Proficiency in Synchro, Excel, OpenRoads, or Microstation; knowledge of HCS, SIDRA, VISSIM, ArcGIS, CUBE, TransCAD is desired.
• Understanding of HCM, MUTCD, AASHTO, GDOT policies, and design manuals.
