Job summary

Egis is seeking a Traffic Engineer to join our team in Tewksbury, MA. You will support junior staff and conduct signal timing studies while designing ITS, signal, and lighting systems to improve safety and mobility.

The role requires 2+ years in traffic/transportation engineering and experience with MassDOT/VTrans/RIDOT projects. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering required.
• PE license is a plus.
• 2+ years of traffic/transportation engineering experience.
• Experience with MassDOT, VTrans or RIDOT projects.
• Experience using CADD design software.

Responsibilities

• Support junior staff and help grow the traffic department.
• Conduct signal timing studies, evaluation of signal systems, and adaptive signal systems.
• Design ITS, traffic signal, and lighting systems.
• Design complex traffic control during construction plans.
• Develop signing and pavement marking plans.
• Analyze intersection and highway levels of service.
• Conduct field reviews to identify safety and operational issues.
• Coordinate work tasks and reviews to ensure accuracy and quality of work.
• Clearly communicate work through drawings, documents, reports, and verbal exchange.
• Prepare Final Design plans specifications, and estimates.
• Coordinate internal traffic work to support other Egis offices.
• Participating in project scoping, fee estimating and proposal activities
