Job summary

Egis is seeking a Traffic Engineer to join our Pennsylvania team. You will mentor staff, perform signal timing studies, design ITS and lighting systems, and develop traffic control plans while coordinating with other offices. A PA PE license and 5+ years of related experience are required.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Professional PA PE license is required.
• At least 5+ years of traffic/transportation engineering experience.
• PennDOT or PA Turnpike experience is required.
• Experience using CADD design software is required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Interpersonal and customer service skills are important.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are necessary.

Responsibilities

• Mentor junior staff and help grow the traffic department.
• Conduct signal timing studies and evaluate signal systems (including adaptive signals).
• Design ITS, traffic signal, and lighting systems.
• Design complex traffic control plans during construction.
• Develop signing and pavement marking plans.
• Analyze intersection and highway levels of service.
• Coordinate internal traffic work to support other Egis offices.
• Communicate work clearly through drawings, documents, reports and meetings.
