Alfred Benesch & Company is seeking a Traffic Engineer to join our Kansas-based team. You will perform engineering analysis, traffic safety studies, and design plans for municipal and DOT projects, with hybrid work options.

Ideal candidates hold a BS in Civil Engineering, are proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, GIS, and have experience with traffic analysis software. Strong communication and teamwork are essential for success.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related discipline required.
E.I.T preferred.
Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, GIS, and Microsoft Office products is preferred but not required.
Knowledge of Synchro/Sim Traffic software, Highway Capacity Software, and other traffic analysis programs.
Demonstrated ability to work and collaborate in a team environment on challenging projects.

Responsibilities

Participate in collecting and assimilating traffic data for traffic engineering studies.
Perform capacity analysis using traffic engineering software for various studies including intersections and corridor studies.
Conduct traffic safety studies for municipal and DOT clients.
Develop geometric alternatives to improve traffic operations and safety.
Develop design plans for traffic management during construction, pavement markings, signage, and signals.
Organize capacity and safety analysis results for reports.
Perform field or site visits as needed.
Develop cursory knowledge of applicable standards and software usage.
