Qualifications

  • Nevada or California PE/Traffic Engineer license required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Transportation Planning and Engineering services for public and private projects.
  • Prepare traffic impact analyses for land development per agency guidelines.
  • Conduct traffic operations analyses and coordinate with NDOT and local governments.
  • Create future travel demand forecasts or use model outputs.
  • Write technical reports and memoranda summarizing results.
  • Present information clearly to clients and agency staff.
  • Mentor, train, and supervise junior staff work.
  • Lead project teams, manage budgets, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Assist in scope, schedule, and budgets for pursuits.

Compensation: $37.50 - $49.50 / hour

Description

Wood Rodgers, an engineering consulting firm, is hiring a Traffic Engineer for its Reno office. The role focuses on analyzing the impacts of transportation infrastructure and land use on traffic patterns, forecasting, and operations.

Responsibilities
  • Provide Transportation Planning and Engineering services for public and private sector projects.
  • Prepare traffic impact analyses for proposed land development projects in accordance with Local and State Agency guidelines.
  • Conduct traffic operations analyses for roadway projects, coordinating with NDOT and local governments.
  • Create future travel demand forecasts or apply outputs from travel demand models.
  • Write technical reports and memorandums summarizing results.
  • Communicate with clients and agency staff, presenting information clearly.
  • Mentor, train, and supervise junior staff technical work.
  • Collaborate with project team to lead projects, maintain budgets, schedule tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Assist in preparing scope of work, schedules, and budgets for project pursuits.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 5+ years of experience performing the duties listed above.
  • Nevada and/or California Professional Engineer or Traffic Engineer license.
  • Proficiency in Synchro, SimTraffic, and Sidra traffic operations software; Vissim proficiency is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with Cube and/or TransCAD travel demand modeling software and Vehicle Miles Traveled (VMT) studies using Big Data or similar.
  • ArcGIS and AutoCAD experience a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting technical information to clients and the public.
