Job summary

Fishbeck, a Michigan-based engineering firm, seeks a Traffic Engineer to lead traffic studies, modeling, and signal operations across the regional offices. The role emphasizes collaboration with MDOT and local agencies and involves client coordination and proposal development.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Civil Engineering and 2+ years of traffic experience, with familiarity in HCS, Synchro, Vissim, Rodel, and MicroStation.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
• 2+ years of traffic engineering experience
• Experience with the ITE Trip Generation Manual and traffic studies
• Preferred knowledge of MDOT traffic standards and guidelines
• Experience with Highway Capacity Software, Synchro, Vissim, Rodel and MicroStation

Responsibilities

• Prepare traffic impact studies, safety studies, signal optimization analyses, and traffic forecasts
• Perform intersection and roadway traffic modeling
• Conduct roundabout analysis and geometric evaluations
• Develop maintenance of traffic plans using traffic data
• Write reports and support traffic signal design and operations
• Interact with clients, including MDOT, local agencies, consulting partners, and contractors
• Assist with project budgets, schedules, and technical proposals
• Manage tasks, mentor staff, and collaborate with transportation professionals across Fishbeck offices

Location: Any Fishbeck Michigan Regional Office

Employment Type: Full-time

Working with our Transportation Department, you will support and lead traffic engineering projects, including traffic studies, modeling, forecasting, signal operations, maintenance of traffic plans, and client coordination.

What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For
