Job summary

MANN+HUMMEL in Lake Wales, FL is seeking a Traffic/Logistics Coordinator to manage inbound and outbound freight, support shipping, receiving, and transportation activities in a manufacturing setting.

The candidate should be highly organized, capable of handling multiple priorities, and adept at resolving transportation issues while maintaining efficient carrier relationships and carrier performance monitoring.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, shipping, receiving, traffic coordination, or related manufacturing/distribution environment preferred.
• Experience working with freight carriers, brokers, and transportation providers strongly preferred.
• Manufacturing or distribution experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate inbound and outbound freight to ensure efficient movement.
• Support daily shipping, receiving, transportation, and logistics activities in a fast-paced environment.
• Review freight invoices and identify billing or rate discrepancies.
• Maintain transportation and shipment records in ERP/TMS systems.
• Monitor open orders and shipments to meet delivery expectations.
• Communicate urgent shipment requirements and transportation issues to leadership.
• Support expedites and identify opportunities to reduce premium freight costs.
• Maintain positive relationships with carriers and logistics partners.
• Assist with monitoring carrier performance and on-time pickup/delivery.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to freight cost and shipping processes.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety requirements, and transportation regulations.
• Provide admin/operational support to Logistics and Supply Chain teams.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Role Summary

The Traffic / Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the efficient movement of inbound and outbound freight while supporting daily shipping, receiving, transportation, and logistics activities.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and comfortable resolving transportation and shipping issues as they arise.

Additional responsabilities

• Review freight invoices and assist with identifying billing or rate discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate transportation and shipment records within applicable ERP, TMS, or internal systems.
• Monitor open orders and shipments to ensure customer delivery expectations are met.
• Communicate urgent shipment requirements and transportation issues to appropriate leadership.
• Support expedited freight requests while identifying opportunities to minimize unnecessary premium freight costs.
• Maintain positive working relationships with carriers and logistics partners.
• Assist with monitoring carrier performance, including on-time pickup and delivery.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to freight cost, transportation efficiency, shipping processes, and customer service.
• Ensure logistics activities comply with company policies, safety requirements, customer requirements, and applicable transportation regulations.
• Provide administrative and operational support to the Logistics and Supply Chain teams as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs.

Experience and Education

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred.

• In-depth knowledge of shipping, transportation, and logistics operations
• Expertise in LTL, FTL, parcel, and expedited freight services - Proficient in handling bills of lading, freight documentation, and carrier scheduling
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
• Capable of prioritizing various shipments and requests in a dynamic setting - High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Effective problem-solving capabilities for transportation and delivery challenges
• Ability to collaborate across multiple departments and organizational levels
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; SAP experience is advantageous
