Job summary

DeAngelo Contracting Services is seeking an experienced Traffic Control / TMA Driver to support our District-Wide Signing Operations in the Atlanta Metro area. The role focuses on keeping active work zones safe on interstates and state routes during sign installation projects.

Responsibilities include setting up lane closures, operating attenuator trucks, and assisting with signage installation while maintaining DOT safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience with traffic control including single & double lane closures.
• Attenuator truck (TMA) operation experience preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License (Class C minimum; Class B CDL preferred).
• Ability to obtain Traffic Control Certification (ATSSA or equivalent).
• Strong awareness of roadway safety and work zone procedures.
• Ability to lift up to 50–75 lbs and work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain single-lane and double-lane closures in accordance with traffic control plans.
• Operate attenuator (crash) trucks to protect crews on active roadways.
• Perform traffic control duties including cone placement, signage setup, and lane shifts.
• Assist highway sign crew with installation and maintenance of roadway signage as needed.
• Drive and operate company vehicles safely in high-traffic environments.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and basic equipment checks.
• Ensure all work zones meet DOT safety standards and regulations.
• Communicate effectively with crew members to maintain safe and efficient operations.
• Respond to emergency and after-hours work as required.
