Job summary

DeAngelo Contracting Services in the Atlanta metro area seeks an experienced Traffic Control / TMA Driver to support district-wide signing operations. This role maintains safe work zones on interstates and state routes during highway sign installation projects.

Responsibilities include setting up lane closures, operating attenuator trucks, placing cones and signage, and assisting with signage installation. Daily vehicle inspections and strict DOT safety compliance are required.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required for employment.
• Experience with traffic control including single & double lane closures.
• ATSSA certification or ability to obtain certification preferred.
• Valid Class C driver's license minimum; Class B CDL preferred.
• Ability to operate attenuator (TMA) trucks and maintain equipment.
• Strong roadway safety awareness and ability to work outdoors in all weather.
• Reliable, safety-focused, and able to work in fast-paced highway environments.

Responsibilities

• Operate attenuator (crash) trucks to protect crews on active roadways.
• Perform traffic control duties including cone placement and signage setup.
• Assist highway sign crew with installation and maintenance of roadway signage.
• Drive and operate company vehicles safely in high-traffic environments.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and basic equipment checks.
• Ensure work zones meet DOT safety standards and regulations.
• Communicate effectively with crew members to maintain safe operations.
• Respond to emergencies and after-hours work as required.

• Assist highway sign crew with installation and maintenance of roadway signage as needed
• Drive and operate company vehicles safely in high-traffic environments
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and basic equipment checks
• Ensure all work zones meet DOT safety standards and regulations
• Communicate effectively with crew members to maintain safe and efficient operations
• Respond to emergency and after-hours work as required

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience with traffic control (single & double lane closures required)
• Previous attenuator truck (TMA) operation experience strongly preferred
• Valid Driver’s License (Class C minimum; ability to obtain Class B CDL preferred)
• Ability to obtain Traffic Control Certification (ATSSA or equivalent)
• Strong awareness of roadway safety and work zone procedures
• Ability to lift up to 50–75 lbs and work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Reliable, safety-focused, and able to work in fast-paced highway environments
