Job summary

Lite & Barricade is hiring a Traffic Control Technician to protect roadway work zones across Texas. Base locations include Dallas, Waco, and Austin with full-time hours and overtime potential.

The role involves setting up and maintaining traffic control devices, following TxDOT/MUTCD standards, and coordinating with dispatch and inspectors. Paid training and certification programs are provided to support career growth in roadway infrastructure operations.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform heavy physical labor and lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Willingness to work flexible schedules including early mornings, nights, weekends, and emergency callouts.
• Strong communication skills and ability to follow safety protocols in high-noise zones.
• Must be able to read and write.
• Dependable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Report to Dispatch to receive daily assignments and review the traffic control plan.
• Load signs, barricades, cones, drums, and equipment as per work order and secure loads.
• Set up lane and shoulder closures, detours, and work zones per plan and standards.
• Inspect and adjust the work zone, replace damaged equipment, and ensure safety throughout the job.
• Flag traffic when required and safely remove devices at job completion.
• Communicate project status to Dispatch and customers; complete work orders with signatures.
