Job summary

Lite & Barricade is hiring a Traffic Control Technician in Austin, TX. You will implement high-standard traffic control layouts across Texas, with paid training and overtime potential. Expect a hands-on role that supports roadway safety and career growth in infrastructure operations.

You will report to dispatch, prepare equipment, follow TxDOT/MUTCD standards, and coordinate with inspectors and customers to confirm project status and completion.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform heavy physical labor outdoors and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Willingness to work early mornings, nights, weekends, and emergencies.
• Strong communication and strict safety protocol adherence.
• Must read and write English.
• Dependable transportation to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Receive daily assignments, review traffic control plans, and begin work safely.
• Load, secure, and position signs, barricades, cones, and equipment per order.
• Set up and monitor lane/shoulder closures and detours per standards.
• Inspect and adjust the work zone; replace damaged equipment as needed.
• Flag traffic when required and safely remove devices after completion.
• Report equipment issues to Dispatch and coordinate status with crew.
• Maintain PPE and keep trucks clean; complete work orders with signatures.
