Quail Construction, LLC., part of the Helix Traffic Solutions network, is seeking a Road Construction Technician to install and maintain traffic control devices, read plans, and support signing projects on roadways in the Southwest.

The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and outdoor work in varied weather, with CDL consideration and a pay range of $18.00–$20.00 per hour for a full-time on-site position with benefits.

Qualifications

Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Valid driver’s license is required; CDL preferred.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

Install and maintain traffic control devices on or adjacent to job sites.
Read and work from plans to accurately locate and position signs.
Construct sign foundations and install directional/informational signs.
Perform signing work including delineators, pavement markings, and lane closures.
Service, maintain, and repair traffic control equipment as needed.

Position Summary - Road Construction Technician

The selected candidate will perform a variety of duties related to roadway signing and traffic control projects. On-the-job training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

Install and maintain traffic control devices on or adjacent to job sites.
Set and maintain traffic control throughout project duration, ensuring devices remain in proper location and working condition.
Construct sign foundations, including setting forms, placing reinforcing steel and anchor bolts, and pouring concrete.
Erect pipe and angle iron frameworks by bolting, welding, or other approved methods prior to sign installation.
Install prefabricated directional and informational signs by hoisting into place and fastening to frameworks.
Read and work from plans to accurately locate, drill holes, and position signs.
Perform related signing work, including delineators, pavement striping, striping removal, reflective pavement markers, lane closures, and detours.
Service, maintain, and repair equipment and traffic control devices as needed.

Job Requirements

Reliable attendance with the ability to report to work on time each day.
Dependable transportation to and from the job site.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including high temperatures.
Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 100 pounds.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Possession of a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is preferred and may result in a higher hourly wage.

Qualifications and Skills

High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
Traffic Control Technician or Traffic Control Supervisor training is preferred; however, training may be provided during employment.
