Job summary

Quail Construction, LLC, part of the Helix Traffic Solutions network, seeks a Road Construction Technician to handle roadway signing and traffic control tasks in the Las Vegas area. On-the-job training is provided, with a focus on safety and efficient project execution.

Responsibilities include installing and maintaining traffic control devices, reading plans, and managing sign foundations and installations. CDL is preferred; high school diploma or equivalent is acceptable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Traffic Control Technician or Traffic Control Supervisor training preferred; training may be provided.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
• Must possess a valid driver's license; CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain traffic control devices on or adjacent to job sites.
• Set and maintain traffic control throughout project duration, ensuring devices remain in proper location and working condition.
• Construct sign foundations, including setting forms, placing reinforcing steel and anchor bolts, and pouring concrete.
• Erect pipe and angle iron frameworks by bolting, welding, or other approved methods prior to sign installation.
• Install prefabricated directional and informational signs by hoisting into place and fastening to frameworks.
• Read and work from plans to accurately locate, drill holes, and position signs.
• Perform related signing work, including delineators, pavement striping, striping removal, reflective pavement markers, lane closures, and detours.
• Service, maintain, and repair equipment and traffic control devices as needed.

Position Summary - Road Construction Technician

Job Requirements

• Reliable attendance with the ability to report to work on time each day.
• Dependable transportation to and from the job site.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including high temperatures.
• Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 100 pounds.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Possession of a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is preferred and may result in a higher hourly wage.

Qualifications and Skills

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Traffic Control Technician or Traffic Control Supervisor training is preferred; however, training may be provided during employment.
