The County of Riverside Transportation Department has an opportunity for a Traffic Control Painter position, located in Riverside.
The incumbent will play a key role in maintaining County roadways by painting, repairing, and prolonging street and highway markings, legends, bridges, and guard rails. The selected candidate will also be responsible for locating, assembling, and maintaining street signs throughout Riverside County. Additionally, Traffic Control Painters are tasked with maintaining paint spraying equipment, performing traffic control, and interpreting signing and striping plans.
The Transportation Department seeks candidates with a background in road construction and traffic control, experience reading engineering plans, and extensive experience operating airless sprayers, working on and alongside open highways, maintaining traffic signs, and holding Traffic Control certifications.
The Transportation Department is responsible for planning, designing, funding, building, operating, and maintaining all roads, bridges, and transportation facilities within the unincorporated County territory.
One year of experience as a helper in traffic painting, road maintenance, or construction work.
This position is safety-sensitive, requiring completion of a DOT-mandated alcohol and drug screening. Reference checks from former DOT-regulated employers are also required. Employees are subject to DOT alcohol/drug testing in various situations.
