Job summary

AWP Safety is hiring Protectors to work at road job sites across the Knoxville area. No experience or degree is required as training is provided and safety comes first. You will set up cones, signs, and barricades, guide traffic with a stop/slow paddle, and communicate with your crew and supervisor.

You’ll work outside year-round, often 8–12 hour shifts, with nights or weekends possible. We supply basic safety gear; you bring steel-toe boots and respect safety rules at all times.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license.
• Able to stand, walk, and work outside for long periods.
• Able to lift 40–50 pounds.
• Willing to work in traffic and changing weather.
• Flexible schedule; show up on time for each shift.
• Must pass pre-hire screening, including a drug test.

Responsibilities

• Setting up cones, signs, and barricades and taking traffic control equipment down.
• Using a stop/slow paddle to guide traffic and monitor job site activity.
• Following safety rules taught in training.
• Communicating with crew and supervisor.
• Helping keep vehicles and equipment clean and safe.
• Working outside year-round in all weather.
• Shifts may include nights, weekends, or emergency work.
• Standing or walking 8 to 12 hours per shift.
