Job summary

AWP Safety is hiring a Protector to work at traffic sites. No experience or degree is required as training is provided. You will support field crews, set up cones, signs, and barricades, guide traffic with a stop/slow paddle, and follow safety rules.

Work includes outdoor duties year-round, flexible shifts, and potential nights/weekends. Equipment is provided; boots are personal. Pay and benefits are described in detail with opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Must be able to stand, walk, and work outside for long periods.
• Must pass pre-hire screening, including a drug test.

• We provide a hard hat, safety goggles, vest, safety whistle, walkie talkie, and weather gear; boots must be provided by the applicant

Your daily work includes:

• Helping keep vehicles and equipment clean and safe


• Working outside all year, in all weather


• Shifts may change based on job needs: Some nights, weekends, or emergency work may be required


• You may stand or walk8 to 12 hours per shift


• We give you a hard hat, safety goggles, a safety vest, safety whistle, walkie talkie, and cold/hot weather gear: you bring your own steel toe safety boots that go above the ankle.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license


• Able to stand, walk, and work outside for long periods


• Able to lift 40-50 pounds


• Willing to work in traffic and changing weather


• Flexible schedule; Show up on time, every shift


• Must pass pre-hire screening, including a drug test (this is a safety sensitive job)


• Stay alert around moving traffic and follow all safety rules all the time


• Treat coworkers, clients, and the public with respect

Additional Information

Pay:

• Pay: $19.50- $20.25 per hour


• Overtime available


• Pay increases in your first year
