Job summary

AWP Safety is hiring a Protector to work at multiple job sites. No experience or degree is required; training is provided. You will set up traffic control devices, guide traffic with a stop/slow paddle, and follow safety rules from training.

Expect outdoor work year-round, with shifts that may include nights or weekends. A safety-first environment offers paid training, benefits and potential career growth into senior protector or supervisor roles.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required or with ability to obtain one.
• Able to stand, walk, and work outside for long periods.
• Able to lift 40–50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Willing to work in traffic and varying weather conditions.
• Flexible schedule; punctuality for every shift.
• Must pass pre-hire screening including a drug test.
• Stay alert around moving traffic and follow safety rules.
• Respect coworkers, clients and the public at all times.

Responsibilities

• Set up cones, signs, and barricades and remove traffic control gear.
• Use stop/slow paddle to guide traffic and monitor site activity.
• Follow safety rules taught in training and wear provided PPE.
• Communicate with crew and supervisor effectively.
• Help keep vehicles and equipment clean and safe.
• Work outside year-round in all weather conditions.
• Shifts may include nights, weekends or emergencies.
• Stand or walk 8 to 12 hours per shift.
• Wear hard hat, safety goggles, vest, whistle, radio; bring steel-toe boots.

As a Protector, you work with a team at job sites. No experience or degree is needed. Safety comes first—always. We train you. We support you. We help you build a career.

Your daily work includes:

• Setting up cones, signs, and barricades and taking traffic control equipment down


• Using a stop/slow paddle to guide traffic, watching traffic and job site activity


• Following all safety rules taught in training


• Communicating with your crew and supervisor


• Helping keep vehicles and equipment clean and safe


• Working outside all year, in all weather


• Shifts may change based on job needs: Some nights, weekends, or emergency work may be required


• You may stand or walk8 to 12 hours per shift


• We give you a hard hat, safety goggles, a safety vest, safety whistle, walkie talkie, and cold/hot weather gear: you bring your own steel toe safety boots that go above the ankle.

Additional Information

Pay:

• Pay: $19.50- $20.25 per hour


• Overtime available
