Job summary

AWP Safety in Altoona, PA is hiring a Protector to work with a crew at traffic sites. No experience or degree required. We train you, support you, and help you build a long-term career in traffic safety.

You will set up cones, signs, barricades, guide traffic with a stop/slow paddle, follow safety rules, communicate with your team, and stay outside year-round in all weather. Some shifts may include nights, weekends, or emergency work.

Qualifications

• Able to stand, walk, and work outside for long periods.
• Flexible schedule; Show up on time, every shift.
• Willing to work in traffic and changing weather.
• Must pass pre-hire screening, including a drug test (this is a safety sensitive job).
• Stay alert around moving traffic and follow all safety rules all the time.
• Treat coworkers, clients, and the public with respect.

Your daily work includes:

You may stand or walk8 to 12 hours per shift

We give you a hard hat, safety goggles, a safety vest, safety whistle, walkie talkie, and cold/hot weather gear: you bring your own steel toe safetyboots that go above the ankle.

Qualifications

Valid driver’s license

Able to stand, walk, and work outside forlong periods

Able to lift40-50 pounds

Willing to work in traffic and changing weather

Flexible schedule;Show up on time, every shift

Additional Information

Pay:

• $17.81-$19.64 per hour
• Pay increasesin your first year
• Paid trainingand a traffic safety certificate
