Job summary

iHeartMedia is seeking a Traffic Anchor to keep listeners informed about local traffic and weather updates. The role includes reading updates on air, delivering timely reports on incidents, and composing traffic and weather copy for on-air use.

The position is based in Long Beach, CA and requires a fast-paced newsroom mindset with strong writing skills. The ideal candidate will have experience with on-air broadcasting, solid knowledge of local geography, and the ability to verify information

Qualifications

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
• Clear, pleasant, well controlled on-air voice with good pronunciation.
• Strong writing and editing abilities with strong grammar.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely, accurate traffic and weather information for commuters.
• Deliver up-to-the-minute reports on accidents, delays, and disruptions.
• Read traffic updates, commercials, and PSAs on air.
• Gather information from multiple sources and monitor feeds to determine relevance.
• Research, write, and produce traffic and weather copy; edit audio.
