iHeartMedia is seeking a Traffic Anchor in Long Beach, CA to keep listeners informed about local traffic and weather. You will deliver timely reports, read updates on air, and gather information from multiple sources to keep content accurate and current.

Readings include traffic updates, commercials, and public service announcements, with a focus on clarity and pace. The role requires newsroom experience, strong writing, and the ability to work varied hours, including early mornings or weekends.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
• Strong knowledge of local geography, major roadways, transit systems.
• Clear, pleasant on-air voice with excellent pronunciation.
• Fast paced, deadline driven newsroom style environment.
• Excellent writing and editing abilities with strong grammar.
• Exceptional attention to detail with follow through.
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
• Familiarity with police scanners is a plus.
• Previous broadcast experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Provide timely, accurate, and useful information to help commuters plan their drives.
• Deliver up to the minute reports on accidents, delays, and major traffic disruptions.
• Read traffic updates, commercials, and public service announcements on air.
• Gather information from multiple intake sources and monitor local, state, and national traffic feeds to determine relevance.
• Research, write, and produce traffic and weather copy for on air use; edit audio.
• Verify facts and maintain updated content on station websites.
• Create written, visual, audio, and video content for websites, blogs, and social platforms.
• Work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends or holidays.
