iHeartMedia’s Total Traffic + Weather Network in New Orleans seeks a Traffic Anchor to keep listeners informed about local traffic and weather. This seasonal, part-time role requires delivering timely reports and writing copy for air, web, and social media.

You’ll gather data from multiple sources, verify details, and read updates on air while maintaining accurate, engaging content across platforms. Some weekends or holidays may be required.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
• Strong knowledge of local geography, major roadways, mass transit systems, and traffic patterns.
• Clear, pleasant, on-air voice with excellent pronunciation.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven newsroom environment.
• Excellent writing and editing abilities with strong grammar.
• Exceptional attention to detail with follow-through until issues are resolved.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a high-volume setting.
• Familiarity with police scanners is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Provide timely, accurate information to help commuters plan drives.
• Deliver up-to-the-minute reports on accidents, delays, and traffic disruptions.
• Read traffic updates, commercials, and public service announcements on air.
• Gather information from multiple sources and monitor feeds to determine relevance.
• Research, write, and produce traffic and weather copy; edit audio.
• Verify facts and maintain updated content on station websites.
• Create written, visual, audio, and video content for websites and social media.
• Work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends or holidays.
