Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Traffic Analyst to join our multidisciplinary transportation team in the New York City office. Ideal candidates will have 1-2 years of experience in transportation engineering or planning, focusing on traffic and revenue forecasting for toll facilities across the United States.

The role is hybrid, requiring three days per week in the office, with collaboration across TPTE, economics, and design disciplines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field; master’s considered asset.
  • 1 year of professional experience preferred; internship helpful.
  • EIT license or FE exam completion within six months of employment.
  • Knowledge of TPTE principles, standards, and NEPA guidance.
  • Experience with traffic data collection and analysis, including microsimulation and modeling.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in transportation planning studies including traffic impact and operations analyses.
  • Support TPTE portions of Environmental Impact Assessments and Planning/ Environmental Linkages studies.
  • Participate in traffic data collection and data analysis programs.
  • Contribute to roadway design processes with engineers.
  • Prepare materials for public outreach and visualize technical concepts for audiences.
  • Perform microsimulation and mesoscopic modeling; integrate findings into recommendations.
  • Draft technical memoranda and comprehensive reports.
