Job summary

Garver Engineering is seeking a Traffic Analysis Engineer to join our Oklahoma City office. The role focuses on analyzing traffic and safety studies, developing signal timing plans, and coordinating with multi‑disciplinary teams on DOT and municipal projects.

The ideal candidate has 5–10 years of related experience, PE licensure or eligibility within six months, and strong communication skills. Opportunities for growth and advancement are offered within a collaborative design team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in ABET-accredited engineering
  • 4–8 years of traffic-specific project experience
  • PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Highway Capacity Manual & Trip Generation Manual
  • Proficiency in capacity analysis, traffic projections, and safety analysis (including HSM)
  • Proficiency in traffic simulation programs (VISSIM, CORSIM, etc.), Synchro, and HCS
  • Experience analyzing intersections, interchanges, and roundabouts
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Traffic Analysis Engineer

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Garver is seeking a highly-motivated Traffic Analysis Engineer to join our Oklahoma City office and contribute to our growing traffic and transportation planning team. The ideal candidate has 5-10 years of related experience, a solid technical background, and a passion for the profession. This position plays a key role in analyzing and designing projects for DOT and municipal clients across our client footprint.

Applicants must have excellent communication skills and a commitment to becoming a key member of this highly productive design team. The role is supervised by a Senior Project Manager and offers strong growth and career advancement opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • Perform traffic and safety studies
  • Conduct traffic simulation and level of service analysis
  • Develop access management plans and lane configurations for new or modified alignments
  • Create traffic signal timing plans
  • Prepare summary documentation and reports
  • Coordinate with multi‑disciplinary teams and communicate concepts to clients
Additional Duties
  • Assist with project management to identify scopes, fees, and monitor progress
  • Maintain a client‑focused service attitude by tracking budgets and keeping projects on schedule
  • Prepare project proposals and give interviews for project pursuits
  • Perform direct client marketing and develop relationships with existing clients within our service area
  • Mentor less experienced staff
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in an ABET‑accredited engineering program
  • 4–8 years of experience with traffic specific projects
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • License as a Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
  • Working knowledge of the Highway Capacity Manual & Trip Generation Manual
  • Proficiency in capacity analysis, traffic projections, and safety analysis (including HSM)
  • Proficiency in traffic simulation programs (VISSIM, CORSIM, etc.), Synchro, and HCS
  • Experience analyzing intersections, interchanges, and roundabouts
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in civil engineering
  • Experience in transportation planning and travel demand modeling (TransCAD)
  • Experience using ArcGIS for data analysis, including reviewing large sets of crash data to spatially map and analyze trends and clusters
  • Experience with pedestrian and bicycle improvement projects and studies
  • Experience in marketing and managing local government projects
  • Experience working with MO DOT and municipalities in Missouri
  • Certification as a PTOE and/or RSP
