Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an ABET‑accredited engineering program.
• 4–8 years of experience with traffic‑specific projects.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
• Working knowledge of the Highway Capacity Manual and Trip Generation Manual.
• Proficiency in capacity analysis, traffic projections, and safety analysis (including HSM).
• Experience with traffic simulation programs (VISSIM, CORSIM, etc.), Synchro, and HCS.
• Experience analyzing intersections, interchanges, and roundabouts.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Perform traffic and safety studies.

• Develop access‑management plans and lane configurations for new or modified alignments.
• Create traffic signal timing plans.
• Prepare summary documentation and reports.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate concepts to clients.
• Assist with project management to identify scopes, fees, and monitor progress.
• Track budgets and keep projects on schedule to maintain a client‑focused service attitude.
• Prepare project proposals and give project pursuit interviews.
• Perform direct client marketing and develop relationships with existing clients within our service area.
• Mentor less experienced staff.

The ideal candidate will have 5–10 years of related experience, a strong technical background, and a passion for the profession. Applicants must have excellent communication skills and a commitment to becoming a key member of a highly productive design team. This position will be supervised by a Senior Project Manager and offers outstanding growth opportunities and career advancement.

Responsibilities

• Perform traffic and safety studies
• Conduct traffic simulation and level of service analysis

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in civil engineering
• Experience in transportation planning and travel demand modeling (TransCAD)
• Experience using ArcGIS for data analysis, including spatial mapping of crash data to identify trends and clusters
• Experience with pedestrian and bicycle improvement projects and studies
• Experience in marketing and managing local government projects
• Experience working with state DOTs and municipalities in Missouri
• Certification as a PTOE and/or RSP
