Job summary

Garver is seeking a Traffic Analysis Engineer for the St. Louis, MO area. You will perform traffic and safety studies, develop signal timing plans, and create access management strategies for new and modified alignments.

You will communicate concepts to clients and work with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment. The role requires 4–8 years of traffic-specific project experience, ABET-accredited engineering education, and a PE license or ability to obtain within six months.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an ABET accredited engineering program.
  • 4–8 years of experience with traffic-specific projects.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • Working knowledge of the Highway Capacity Manual & Trip Generation Manual.
  • Working knowledge of capacity analysis, traffic projections, and safety analysis (including HSM).
  • Working knowledge of traffic simulation programs (VISSIM, CORSIM, etc.), Synchro, and HCS.
  • Experience analyzing intersections, interchanges, and roundabouts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  • Mentor less experienced staff.

Location: St. Louis, Missouri

Responsibilities

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in civil engineering
  • Experience in Transportation planning and travel demand modeling (TransCAD)
  • Experience using ArcGIS for data analysis, including review of large sets of crash data to spatially map and analyze for trends and clusters
  • Experience with pedestrian and bicycle improvement projects and studies
  • Experience in marketing and managing local government projects
  • Experience working with MODOT and municipalities in Missouri
  • Certification as a PTOE and/or RSP
