Job summary

Oliver Wyman seeks an Engagement Manager to lead energy-sector client engagements, guiding teams and partnering with Partners to deliver on trading strategy, risk, and commercial optimization. You will shape client agendas, manage deliverables, and help grow the business by identifying opportunities while exemplifying firm values.

Ideal candidates bring 5–7 years in Supply & Trading strategy, experience with Oil & Gas or Power clients, and a proven track record of leading teams under tight

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in Supply & Trading Strategy & transformation.
• Experience in serving Oil & Gas and/or Power clients (Integrated Majors, Independent Traders, Hedge Funds).
• Conceptual understanding of Trading Operating Models and Commercial Optimization.
• Strong background in conceptual problem solving and analytical skills.
• Track record of leading and managing teams and delivering against tight deadlines.
• Outstanding communication skills; confident presenting to senior executives.
• Undergraduate or advanced degree from a top academic program.
• Ideally located in Houston; willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership of client projects to Associates and Consultants, and contribute to client relationships and commercial processes.
• Lead and manage complex programs to ensure on-time delivery using Oliver Wyman best practices and firm competencies.
• Guide clients across situations, including execution of commercial processes, becoming trusted advisors.
• Engage in building business by identifying new and expanded opportunities for the client.
• Create intellectual capital through thought leadership across a broad range of topics.
• Develop others and build a followership as part of asset building for the firm.
• Lead firm-building activities and uphold firm values with a strong personal brand.
• Oversee and guide the consulting team as they develop hypotheses, review client information, and produce deliverables.
• Support Partners in project execution through excellent project management, including planning and coaching junior team members.
