Job summary

Summit Securities Group is seeking an experienced risk professional to own trading risk management. You will define exposure, capital-at-risk, and limits across desks, partnering with traders and engineers to improve risk tools and controls.

You will oversee risk across trading desks, investigate exposure changes and P&L, and drive risk responses with clear escalation procedures. This is a hands-on, ownership role in New York.

Qualifications

• Hands-on trading risk management experience at a prop trading firm or similar business.
• Direct responsibility for limits, exposure monitoring, and desk oversight.
• Experience working with engineers to build or improve risk controls.

Responsibilities

• Define trading risk management measures across strategy, desk and firm levels.
• Own limits, monitor activity, investigate exceptions, ensure risk parameters are observed.
• Build analyses, dashboards, and reporting to make risks visible for timely decisions.
• Translate risk requirements into pre-trade controls and intraday monitoring.
• Apply broker-dealer regulatory risk limits and collaborate with compliance.
• Run stress tests and scenario analysis to understand potential losses.
• Assess changes in trading activity and define appropriate limits before launch.
• Establish breach procedures and ensure improvements after incidents.
