Job summary

Optimus LLC in Houston seeks a Risk Control Manager to strengthen and build out its trading risk control framework. This hands-on role partners with senior Risk leadership to evaluate controls, identify gaps, improve processes and formalize controls where needed.

The focus is risk and controls—not P&L. The successful candidate will understand what a strong trading control environment should look like and serve as the trusted right hand in building it, with responsibilities across risk, trading,

Qualifications

Experience in energy/commodity trading risk, trade control, middle office, product control or risk operations.
Strong understanding of trade lifecycle and trading control environment.
Experience with exchange/FCM activity, reconciliations, ETRM controls and exception management.
Excellent process documentation, reporting and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities

Review existing trading and risk controls and identify opportunities for improvement.
Develop, document and formalize controls, procedures and escalation processes.
Establish meaningful risk reporting, KPIs and exception monitoring.
Strengthen controls around trade confirmations, exchange activity, reconciliations and KPIs.
Ensure processes are aligned with risk policies and operate consistently.
Partner across Risk, Trading, Operations and Finance to resolve control issues.
