Job summary

Jump Trading Group is seeking a Trading Production Engineer to provide primary production coverage during U.S. trading hours and improve the reliability of day-to-day operations across global markets.

You will monitor end-to-end trading workflows, respond to alerts and failed jobs, and collaborate with quantitative researchers and software engineers to automate routine work and implement safe, well-scoped changes. The team values practical systems skills and strong collaboration at a high level.

Qualifications

• Experience in production engineering, trade support, or related field.
• Proficient in Python, Linux, and shell scripting.
• Familiar with monitoring, alerting, automation, data pipelines.
• Systematic, calm approach to troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• After onboarding, serve as the primary operational point of contact during U.S. trading hours for the team's global production environment.
• Monitor end-to-end trading workflows, including market connectivity, data availability and quality, and scheduled model and optimization processes.
• Respond to alerts, failed jobs, and degraded systems; resolve routine and moderately complex issues independently and partner with developers on deeper problems.
• Develop a broad understanding of the team's systems, dependencies, and trading workflows.
• Maintain and improve monitoring, alerting, documentation, and support processes; automate repetitive work and implement safe, well-scoped code or configuration changes.
• Coordinate regional handoffs and communicate clearly with quantitative researchers, engineers, and middle-office teams.
